Customer Reviews
We have used Mobil 1 ATF for many years now and have had exceptional results for all this time with many customers with many makes and models. Now that it is rated for almost ALL makes and models we expect even more successes. Our personal Toyotas have 2.3K, 3.7K, and 2.4K mikes without any tranny problems, still crisp and quick shifting when most others of this vintage have croaked. I have brought back a few Fords from the brink by using it and a new filter plus a cleaning (NEVER PRESSURE FLUSH!)of the pan and lower assembly with carb cleaner. As to changing intervals we just wait until the clear ruby color becomes cloudy or tending brown regardless of mileage (remember our customers and our selves have very high mileage cars) and then just change it hot, letting it drip for a good while. Every third or so time we replace the filter also unless it is a screw on one then every time. New car owners and Ford truck owners verify the spec numbers on the bottle for your applications, keep a copy of the back of the bottle and document the mileage of changes, always exceeding or at least meeting the warranty requirements. I think you will be happy with the long term results long after you recover from the sting of the price! Transmissions expensive, ATF(even this one) , cheap.
2000 legacy, bought new in 1999. Started using Mobil 1 trans fluid at 25,000, first trans fluid change. I always change the screw on filter too. Since then, I've changed every 25,000-30,000 with filter. I'm at 224,000 now and it still shifts great. A local shop that just works on Subarus said my transmission had the most miles they had seen without a rebuild. I live in WV and the terrain here is very hard on transmissions. The only downside with this transmission fluid is cost and it doesn't meet Dexron VI. If you have a newer car, it won't meet the specs.
