I drive an Acura 2006 TL Automatic with 64,000 miles. I knew it was time a while back to replace the transmission fluid.
When I drained the ATF the color was brown and burnt. The whole process took me 2.5 hours because I've never done any car maintenance before. So it was a good learning experience.
Before ATF exchange: Car had minor shifting hesitations from gears 2-3 and felt jerky.
After ATF exchange: Car has no shifting hesitations and transitions from gears 2-3 very smoothly.
Overall thoughts were WELL WORTH the money and time!

hi...... it lasts for years and the difference between cheap and great is pennies.....this is a no brainer.....red line knows what they are doing....iam lucky to have a valve on my tranny....i drain and add 2 quarts every year...for pennies i have the best and 60,000 miles later my tranny runs better than new.....my gas mileage also improved....shifts smother....smells like new....dont wait for the fluid to change colors or stop smelling like new.....its already breaking down....god bless amazon for its great prices......joey

If you have a Chrysler vehicle, You MUST use this ATF+4 transmission fluid in the transmission.
If you use anything else, even DEXRON as the dipstick says on some of the vehicles, YOU WILL HAVE A PREMATURE transmission FAILURE!
Take it from someone who found out the hard way!

Must use ATF-4 for my '06 Dodge diesel. Valvoline is on the approved list for Dodge. Best price in my area and includes free shipping.

The only fluid that works for hondas. Do not use any of those universal ATF your see around the place, they will mess up your honda transmission. This fluid is for Hondas. I am not saying it can or will work for any other vehicle. It was engineered for hondas, and it does a damn good job of it. The real test that an ATF fluid works well, is if it allows a vehicle to climb hilly terrains, without problems + smooth shifts on highways. I have seen people say their universal ATF fluid shifts fine on highways, (but they never tested it on hilly terrains).
I ran into that problem with a few high quality ATF on the market, and then I eventually went back to this OEM fluid. I had lost most of the tranny "power" for more than a year, and after I switched back to this OEM, all the power was restored. Now I can climb some of the steepest hills you can find - like an all-terrain vehicle ! No joke.... Its the only fluid I now use for Hondas, plus I do change it often - every 6 months (far less than the recommended 30k miles interval. I say better safe than sorry.
I have used Amsoil universal ATF, Castrol universal ATF, and the third ATF I cannot recall, since that was years ago. They all failed to deliver, despite they specifically claimed it would work in hondas (it was listed on all their labels - "Honda - ATF Z1"
Sidenote: Honda ATF DW-1 now replaces the Z-1 version. It is vastly improved over the previous version. Honda is phasing out the Z-1s. It is also backward compatible, so it can be mixed with Z-1. I have heard though, that the DW-1 is a synthetic ATF (but dont quote me on that...). So it would make it last even longer and resists heat better (if that is really the case).

Still waiting on the shipment from the seller but I bought a few quarts locally to do an fluid change in my Honda 3.5L 5-speed auto tranny and felt that the shifting was smoother. To replace the fluid in these transmissions one needs to drain and refill 3x within a few hundred miles of each other. Still have to do it two more times and felt some improvement in driveability after the initial change. I've heard from others that they have experienced much better cold weather performance and much less--if not any--stuttering at 45-55mph.

This is the latest ATF from Honda and is backward compatible with all their vehicles (they have continued ATF Z-1). I purchased this for my 2010 Accord V6 and the car seems to shift smoother.

It's always better to buy a case and have extra than to be a quart short when you need it. Just my $0.02.

This stuff is great. If you change your transmission fluid you'll need several quarts, and it's cheaper to buy a case of this stuff than to buy six quarts at the closest auto supply store, at least where I live. My car specifies Dexron II or III, but GM doesn't even support that specification anymore and let the old licenses expire, so I'm not comfortable using the so-called Dexron II and III currently being sold, and the Dexron/Mercon dual compatibility claim leaves me leery. Dex VI is supposed to be better anyway. I got my car used and wasn't sure if the transmission fluid had ever been changed, and it was much more brown than red. I'll be draining and refilling it four times. I've done two drain and refills so far and the shifts are smoother, especially in the cold and the car seems quieter, especially during acceleration in the cold. A much cheaper investment than a new transmission.
Update: Completed the 4th drain and refill a couple of weeks ago. Everything's running like it should.
2nd Update: My differential also calls for Dexron. I put in this Dexron VI and have had good results.
